Volunteer State Community College closed on a property sale and finalized a land donation in Wilson County that will be used to build a new satellite campus.
The college purchased about 7.5 acres that is in addition to a 2.5 acre land donation from the McFarland family for the future campus, according to Vol State spokesman Eric Melcher.
The two tracts that total approximately 10 acres are on East Division Street in Mt. Juliet, about a half mile east of the Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce building.Vol State is raising money to construct and design the building. The school is also working through a multi-part State of Tennessee process for the new campus.
The Wilson County campus will have multiple classrooms and other educational facilities that will allow for a variety of classes.
